Woensdag 25 januari stond voor de fractie van de plaatselijke ChristenUnie in het teken van een bezoek aan verschillende bedrijven die bezig zijn met de vis(verwerking).
Vrijwel de hele plaatselijke fractie(inclusief burgerleden) was aanwezig. Ook twee leden van de Statenfractie waren erbij, namelijk Carla Dik-Faber en Kees de Heer, evenals een tweetal plaatselijke bestuursleden.
Het was jammer dat Arie Slob, fractievoorzitter in de 2e Kamer, niet kon komen in verband met andere verplichtingen. Hij had graag willen komen, juist ook omdat visserij in zijn portefeuille zit en hij ook de bedenker is geweest van het 10-puntenplan voor duurzaam vissen.
Voor alle geledingen, plaatselijk en provinciaal was het een boeiende middag, met veel zinvolle informatie over verschillende zaken. De bedrijven waren het biovergistingsinstallatie van de Groep en het bedrijf Paling.nl en de stichting Dupan (Alex Koelewijn).
Twee bedrijven die vernieuwend bezig zijn en uniek zijn voor Bunschoten-Spakenburg, maar ook provinciaal en landelijk tot de verbeelding spreken.

Biovergistingsinstallatie van de Groep

Een bedrijf dat de laatste jaren veel in de belangstelling staat. De klachten over geuroverlast zijn legio en er wordt door de bevolking dan ook veel over geklaagd. Vooral bij een bepaalde windrichting. Stankoverlast en andere klachten waren voor de fractie van de ChristenUnie dan ook belangrijke gesprekspunten tijdens dit bezoek. We zijn geïnformeerd over het proces van biovergisting, maar ook hebben we een rondleiding gehad over het hele terrein.
Het was mooi te zien dat door de aanwezige vertegenwoordigers van het bedrijf op een goede manier op vragen van onze kant werd ingegaan. Het bedrijf ziet de geuroverlast zelf ook als belangrijk knelpunt dat opgelost moet worden. En juist op het punt van het terugdringen van de geuroverlast wordt momenteel ook veel geïnvesteerd, zo werd ons duidelijk gemaakt.
Al langere tijd zijn er planne voor het realiseren van een overkapping boven de silo’s, waar de visafval in terecht komt voordat het proces van vergisting wordt gestart.
Tijdens het werkbezoek waren de bouwvakkers druk bezig met het boren van sleuven, waar februari/maart 2012 een nieuwe overkapping wordt aangebracht. Met een afzuiginstallatie bovenin filtert men de lucht die vrijkomt. En de bedoeling is deze lucht daarna opnieuw te filteren om zo de stankoverlast zoveel mogelijk te reduceren en terug te brengen naar een niveau waarop het aanvaardbaar is.
Daarnaast hebben we inzicht gekregen in het bedrijfsproces. En dat is indrukwekkend! Per jaar wordt via de weg 35.000 ton visafval aangevoerd en verwerkt tot groen gas.
Momenteel levert het bedrijf 700 m3 groen gas per uur. Dit is voldoende voor 3000 huishoudens in Bunschoten en omliggende dorpen. En het is de bedoelding dat in de toekomst het aantal kuubs per uur wordt verdubbeld, zodat de hele regio zal kunnen worden voorzien van groen gas uit afval.
Ten aanzien van het produceren van gas zijn er allerlei strenge wettelijke regels en voorschriften waar ze aan moeten voldoen.
Er zijn in Nederland slechts 4 verschillende soorten bedrijven die zich bezig houden met het vergisten van andere producten dan landbouw. Van de Groep is uniek omdat het vis en resten van brood etc. verwerkt.
Voor de fractie van de ChristenUnie een bezoek, waarin het zinvol was te worden geïnformeerd over hoe het vergisten werkt en hoe er aan de stankoverlast wordt gewerkt.
Behalve burgers vinden we ook ondernemers en bedrijven, die bezig zijn met innovaties, belangrijk. Zo wordt Bunschoten-Spakenburg op een goede manier op de kaart gezet. Niet alleen plaatselijk, maar ook provinciaal en landelijk.
